The Third by Horiyoshi III at Tsvetnoy!
He has been referred to as a 'Living legend' by many. He has been credited as the primary artist responsible for advancing the understanding and appreciation of Japanese tattooing (Irezumi) at a global level with his dedication, mastery, and continuous evolution of tradition, culture, and style.
Based in the suburbs of port-city Yokohama, Horiyoshi works from a secluded atelier, crammed with skulls, Japanese Noh theater masks and even a dragon-print umbrella from Vivienne Westwood.
Celebrating the art of Master Horiyoshi's irezumi tattoos, the first
women's and men's fashion collections were launched in 2010. Reworking his designs into luxurious knitwear, contemporary denim and silk & cashmere scarves, each piece carefully crafted to mirror the dedication and detail of his artwork. The collections have been quickly embraced by the fashion community and loved by some of the most influential figures in modern culture.
Tattoo infused graphics and biker styling across the t-shirt & sweats collection draws on LA's history of motorbike building, customizing and riding. Cone Mills black and indigo denim is used extensively across the range. Cone is among the longest standing, high quality denim manufacturers in the US, established in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1896. Cut, sewn, washed, treated & finished in Downtown Los Angeles within reach of Horiyoshi III HQ to ensure exacting standards of quality & consistency are achieved throughout.
Denim line Horiyoshi III bring in skater, tattoo artist and model James Quaintance to front the Fall Winter 2012 campaign, their first full denim collection entitled 'The Thiiird'.
You can find the new collection of this unique brand on the 4th floor of Tsvetnoy Central Market and video with James is right here!
